When a group of Seekers offers her a chance to study at the prestigious Leidblum's School of Dreammaking in the heart of Wayfaire, Wren jumps at the opportunity to make something of herself. There, she finds an unlikely friend in arrogant Kais, who is drawn to her gift more than anyone else, and protected by a charming young professor whose true motives seem to lie elsewhere.

However, something is stirring in the Blacklands, an unexplored region where the Undreaming are said to be. And little does Wren know of her own lineage-an old line of powerful Dreammakers from the rival country of Eyverlin.
