Alissa O'Donnell is an American ballerina attending the Australian National Academy of Dance. As a former star of the American Ballet School in New York, New York, Alissa is surprised at the amount of work she has to do to become a star in Sydney, Australia.

With her eye on the prize of following in her mother's footsteps and becoming one of the best, and youngest, principals in the Australian National Ballet Company, she will do anything it takes to get to the top. No matter who she steps on, no matter who's feelings she hurts, no matter the cost. Proving herself is all that matters.

But maybe things change when she rekindles old friendships with the troublemaker and perfection-obsessed dancers of the Academy.
