Matthew Summers finds Carl Johnson's body in his lawn. A gun in hand and a bullet through the head, they say it was suicide.
He finds himself guilty for what happened without any reason. But he thinks that it's not suicide, he was murdered. And so he searches for an answer himself.
Later on, he acquires a journal...
A journal that could give him answers, and clues about the murder of Carl Johnson.
Everything he needed to know was in there. He could retrace the steps of the murderer. But what's the catch?
The murderer threatens to kill him if he doesn't stop what he's doing.

L Lawliet, worlds greatest detective and possibly the smartest person alive... can't talk. Well, he can, but only to those he's deeply connected with. Partially mute, he hides behind his screen and solves crimes anonymously. Speaking to taskforces with text to speech, and no face shown. Until he's pushed into a corner with a particularly tricky case, and ends up having to make his first face to face interaction. (y/n) shows up to the hotel room of the worlds greatest detective, thinking they'd see a well polished, wise old man. Instead they're met with a tired, young and rather huggable looking guy with eyebags holding a torn notebook page saying "I am L, and I can't talk" -- GNC READER. Basically all language for the reader is gender neutral, anyone can read! Non binary mfs rejoice. When the eventual lemon hits it'll be kinda alluded to an AFAB body (bc marketing to my main audience yo), but all pronouns are they/them and there's no descriptions of tiddies or anything. PROLOGUE My name is Alex Kahill. On July 15, 2017, I killed a person, but am not accused of murder.
