How could he do this to me? I didn't understand it at the time. I was too caught up in the moment to realize the stupidity that was involved in it.
"So, is this goodbye?" He asks, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I look up to meet his eyes. He asks again, this time I nod my head, answering his question.
"Don't say that." He takes a step closer towards me.
I look down at the ground trying to avoid eye contact. The tension in the air was rising. "Please..." I say just barely above a whisper. My heart aches. I can't bare this. I wanted to leave, but my feet wouldn't move because my heart knows I have to do this. Tears fill my eyes. "Don't do this to me."
He wraps his arms around me, pulling me close. "Do what?" He asks, his voice is filled with sadness and my heart aches even more hearing this.
I push a little on his chest to try and create some space, but his grip is strong."This."
"Why not?" he now rested his chin on my head.
"Because then I can't say goodbye."

I sniffled and wiped my eyes as I looked up at Evan. He was watching me with concerned, loving eyes and for some unknown reason that look only made me start crying again. This time however I was happy. I was crying with joy because I knew I had someone who I could rely on; someone who would never leave me, someone who would be by my side forever, someone who would stay, stay with me and stay for me, someone who would stay true to me and stay forever in my heart. ~~~~~~~ Maria and Evan meet quite unexpectedly and form a relationship that is stronger than either of them could imagine. Bang! I sat bolt upright. Did I imagine that? That noise? What was it? I clambered out of bed and almost fell down the stairs with the panic that had set in. My front door was wide open but nobody was there, the wood was just swinging in the doorway allowing the cool breeze in my house. What if somebody was already inside? "No." I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. "No?" He repeated my words back to me and I boiled the kettle for a cup of tea.
