How could he do this to me? I didn't understand it at the time. I was too caught up in the moment to realize the stupidity that was involved in it.
"So, is this goodbye?" He asks, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I look up to meet his eyes. He asks again, this time I nod my head, answering his question.
"Don't say that." He takes a step closer towards me.
I look down at the ground trying to avoid eye contact. The tension in the air was rising. "Please..." I say just barely above a whisper. My heart aches. I can't bare this. I wanted to leave, but my feet wouldn't move because my heart knows I have to do this. Tears fill my eyes. "Don't do this to me."
He wraps his arms around me, pulling me close. "Do what?" He asks, his voice is filled with sadness and my heart aches even more hearing this.
I push a little on his chest to try and create some space, but his grip is strong."This."
"Why not?" he now rested his chin on my head.
"Because then I can't say goodbye."
