Layla is  a preteen who's lost just about everything in her life, she is sent to live with an aunt who never wanted anything to do with her or her baby sister Rose.  Being the sole survivors of their family, she refuses to see them split up, and decides to take the treacherous journey from Florida to California.  With no adult help, no money, and a 6 month old baby in a sling.  Can she make it? Does this utopia in California  where children govern themselves even exists? What will she encounter along the way?  Who will try and stop her?  Read it all as it unfolds. A story of love and strength and never giving up.  

Note from the author:
My 12 year old daughter Arianna and I are both writing this, and we can't wait to hear what everyone thinks. We'll be trying to release about a chapter a week, and I can bet that things are going to change often.  So, keep checking on our progress. We hope you enjoy!
