It's been almost a year since the hunter's dream, one of the most crucial workshops of the age of hunters, has collapsed. And ever since, most sane hunters still living have retreated to the shadows, their numbers dwindling far too rapidly for them to remain viable in the hunt. And with each night growing ever so longer, it seems that the survivors of the Yharnam scourge have no hope for escape left. But when Sir Leeroy, a lone hunter of the spark workshop, arrives at the cathedral ward, the one bastion of safety for survivors, he knows that if the remaining hunters don't rally together, the only thing awaiting them is oblivion. Wren Grayson was sixteen when her family was murdered by vampires. Left an orphan in a world she didn't even know existed, she turned to a local boarding school known for training hunters in a prestigious and rigorous training regimen. Determined to be the best, regardless of how many years she missed, she perseveres and ends up on top. Under the scrutiny of a very prestigious psychologist who doesn't buy her miraculous seven-year-long rocky road to recovery, she finds herself growing close to her savior. The reason she lived seven years ago. Chief Silas Mitchel. Hot, sculpted, lethal, intelligent, and the ideal eye candy for the entire campus- Wren finds herself falling head over heels for the one man who was supposed to ensure her safety. But, loving him proves that safety is obscure and puts both Wren and Chief Mitchel at risk for losing everything far before it even starts. Vampires are closing in looking for the Nightlock that Chief Mitchel has hidden within the walls of Briarwood, if they find them, it'll bring the vampires an endless power. What happens when news of the Nightlock finds Wren and the ultimate surprise becomes a realization that the race of Nightlock's isn't dead and everyone is at risk? With vampires pressing in and their plan that could destroy the world as they know it, it's up to Wren and her clan of misfit toys to save everyone. Even if it means sacrificing the cardinal rule- they come first. The civilians come first. In a race against time and a fight against friends and those who have become family, Wren finds herself in a battle that started ages before her birth. Finishing it is a long shot, but saving herself, her friends, and the greatest love of her life is worth every risk she's afraid to take.
