Set in the future where aliens are real and planets are livable, supernatural powers are born to those of the human race. They are known as The Alphas and are kept as fighters for the planet. One day Ava, a 15 year old orphan, is taken and identified as a legend. She, along with other humans, have special abilities that are considered very rare. However, Ava's powers have never been seen before and are almost uncontrollable. With evil aliens that target the humans, The Alpha, including Ava, have to find their way into the biggest enemy they've ever encountered known as the Horrors.

"It's human nature. It's instinct to survive, no matter the cost." The world has fallen into desolation. The apocalypse has already started and finished, leaving some of the surviving ones with strange powers and mysterious scars. The world has ended, according to some, and is now in a state of rebirth. Their leader, a destructive insomniac, promises to help him in return for the skills and usefulness this young boy seems to possess, but something disrupting sends waves of unease through the Raiders, something about a forgotten past and talk of a mutiny. "Maybe there's more to life than just surviving." ... Rated C for Caution. Though it's rated mature, there is no bad language or vivid descriptions of sexual contact. It does have very strong themes. Actually, they go through some pretty dark trauma, including being shot at, kidnapped, assaulted, drugged, and taken advantage of by large corporations. Not for the younger readers. The story follows the many horrible adventures that our protagonist, Ash, undergoes. Despite having powers that break the laws of physics, she has everyone reconsidering what their notions of right and wrong are truly based upon....as well as her own.Complete
