After losing her father to his job, Victoria's life quickly takes a 180 when her mother marries a strange man just months after to her husband's death. Having been a minor at the time Victoria had no say in the matter when her mother decided that they would live with Mark in the the middle of nowhere. When the people she runs into start saying strange things, Victoria starts to assume the worst of her mother's husband. Thinking that they weren't safe she takes her mother and she runs for the hills...but time changes things and when things change, people change. Victoria finds herself alone and spiraling down a path of self destruction and what she had refused to believe continued to throw itself in front of her. Can she come to terms with the reality of the everyday world or will she follow her hero to his grave?

Caleb is definitely a troubled child. Alone, with nothing going for him, he attempts to take his own life but fails at his first attempt. He desperately wants to try again but is put under constant supervision, especially by his new doctor, Dr Palmer. Dr Palmer becomes more and more involved in Caleb’s life, trying to help him see that his life is worth living through various methods. He starts back at college full time, and becomes ever closer with Stephanie, the only person whom he feels that he can trust. When his own father attacks his mother, Caleb begins to think that the police are on to him, trying to unravel his past, thinking that they have realised what happened to cause him to try to commit suicide. However, they are just trying to build a case against his father. In desperation, Caleb tried to reach out to Dr Palmer, against the advice of his mother. As his life spirals out of control, Dr Palmer makes him realise that the only way he can carry on is to come clean and reveal his secret. In a shocking final twist, everything is revealed to be not what it seems, and Caleb finds out that he will be ok, no matter what happens to him.
