"What do you know of the things that go bump in the night Miss Lennox?" He was being serious, as serious as Dr. Jenkins could be.

"Like the bogeyman?" Another amused chuckle vibrated his chest at my childish response.

"Worse."

"What's worse than the bogeyman?"

"I'm not talking about a play thing that hides under beds to scare children. I'm talking about creatures that feast on the fear and precious blood that courses through your veins. The ones that can tear apart flesh like a sheet of paper. The ones that walk amongst your kind."

Armani Lennox was never much of a people's person after she was attacked just after her seventeenth birthday. For almost a year she had been keeping to herself, avoiding the general population. The night of the incident was one known by the entire town, but they didn't know the whole truth.
