In this second installment of River's story, she is finally given her own journal and astrolabe by Director Spader of the Tempus Temporis Organization. Now an agent in her own right, River and her new partner are kidnapped in an attempt to diffuse the conflict between the Delegation of Five, an ancient peacekeeping agency, and the Reppeptora, a violent species invading territory not their own.
The only question is, will she make it out alive?
