Nyssa Hathwillow is faced with a complicated predicament when the man suspected of the kidnapping and murder of her younger sister, Gaia, is found guilty. But the night of his sentence, she is given information that proves him far beyond innocent. Information about his past, and who he is.
Because of this, Nyssa breaks him out of prison, originally planning to make it as discrete as possible, but when her plan goes terribly wrong, she is forced to join him on the run. Together they embark on a journey to finish what this man, Curtis, started with Gaia Hathwillow two years previous.
