Tyler Joseph struggles to deal with his emotions, and it doesn't help that they appear to have taken a life of their own, as an alter-ego Tyler calls "Blurryface." 

Josh, Tyler's best friend and band mate can't seem to figure out what's on his friend's mind. How can he help if Tyler won't let him in? 

Blurry wants to control Tyler, who simply wants his life back, and lately it seems harder and harder to convince himself and others, that Blurry's the one he isn't...

~in the process of rewriting~ Tyler Joseph. Just your normal 17 year old, right? Well, not exactly. Tyler struggles with schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder. He hears a total of three voices who all taunt him almost every chance they get. One voice, who happens to be his alter, has earned the name Blurryface. Tyler has struggled with the voices and Blurryface as long as he can remember. They were at their worst a few years ago, calmed down, and are now starting to get bad again. It's like breathing in as much air as you possibly can, and not wanting to exhale it all. Holding it in, how can a heavy soul be in that much control over itself? Tyler Joseph thought about that a lot, especially in his writing. How can he be in control of a soul so dirty? So broken. So heartless. All he wanted was to be known but by who? Joshua Dun thought the same in a sense. He found safety in something he didn't have in his loving household: his drums. He'd go to the local record store, check out the music, and play their drums until he was kicked out. Only to be left alone with no outlet for the rest of his day. Tyler runs a secret (Blurry) blog where he posts unusual messages to cope with his troubles. Not many understand. Josh did. Tyler is sick and Josh won't let him go through it alone. ***Will be trigger warnings, though not many. But Tyler should know better than anyone; you can't hide from love. Especially when it grabs you by the heart, twisting and tugging until you have no energy left to stop it. He was in love with Joshua Dun, and eventually, he stopped denying it. There was nothing left for him to do but fall deeper and deeper, past the point of being rescued, for his best friend. •Please correct my mistakes!• This is the first fanfic I ever wrote, so it may not be as good as my newer ones! Something is very wrong in Tyler's hometown. The church services, the storms that overtake the town, the woods on the edge of the town's limits that people disappear in. Josh doesn't like the way that he suddenly has to follow all of the rules upon moving there, either. One band: twenty one pilots, two musicians: a drummer and a singer, one bond: a friendship, one accident: and so it all began. Tyler and Josh are best friends. They're in a band together, performing is in their blood. That all ends way too soon when Tyler has an accident and gets amnesia; barely remembering his own name, he forgets everyone, including his lifetime best friend: Josh. Despite not being remembered, Josh takes care of him and assures his well being all throughout his recovery while trying to bring his memories back. He walks around the house blasting twenty one pilots and singing along while casually putting on their favourite tv series and/or anything that may trigger his memories. Josh's ultimate goal is to gain his friendship back with Tyler, even if that means jeopardizing everything, including their music career. completed √ tyler joseph was a quiet kid. he was stressed out most of the time, stuck battling the little civil war going on in his head. at least one part of the day, he felt anxiety creep into him and he went to the restroom to let his emotions out. he had nightmares almost every night, and that certainly didn't help. but what tyler didn't know.. is that he has another side. his nightmares were about 'blurryface'. now, blurryface is a silly name, but it has deep meaning behind it. - every chapter will end with "small mouth" (except for the last one). - trigger warnings - lowercase intended - chapters aren't that long

!!! NOT JOSHLER !!! After struggling with Blurryface for most of his life, Tyler Joseph seems to have finally gained some control over him. The other voices have been quiet for years, and he's married to his dream girl. Sounds like a good life, right? It was. For the most part. Until something happened while him and Josh were on tour, that is. Blurryface makes a surprise appearance on stage, shocking everyone in Tyler's life. !!!SEQUEL TO BLURRYFACE!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THAT, PLEASE DO SO YOU UNDERSTAND THE STORYLINE BETTER!!! !!! I am aware that the set lists aren't like the ones I have in the story, but I tweaked them so they fit my story.
