The year is 3784 AD, and the world is in chaos. Throughout the years leading up to the war, tensions increased, and the plague sent everything spiraling out of control. One girl, without knowing it, holds the fate of the entire world in her prosthetic hand.
Sage had grown up a girl of dreams. Never once in her life did she give up hope that someday her father would come back. A small girl, working as a servant, she had always hoped that one day, she could be happy. However, outside forces had other plans. Sage will now hold the fate of the world in her hand, with the most ordinary gift possible; a needle and thread.

Separated from her father, a young girl has to learn to survive in a foreign land haunted by tribes of ghosts and roving bands of piratical thralls to a sadistic King. A watcher keeps lonely vigil from within a fortress that has been under siege for hundreds of years, while a soldier dies for the twenty-third time, and dies again while wondering if he is going mad. First started in 2015, this story is at 50k+ words, but was removed when a plotting hiccup was encountered. I now intend to split it into three parts, and this is the complete Part 1.
