In a land long forgotten is a valley. All manner of creatures lived in peace among the rocky greenery. Or as peaceful as possible. Villages consider the land sacred. Every year the sixteen year old children pour in one side, only a few make it out the other. The week long track kills off most of them. Parents beg their young to remain home but most still go in thinking the risk far less than the reward.
Familiars, that's why they pour in and rush out. Only Warriors may enter. None are certain how it happens but within a week of return, an animal becomes the survivers familiar. In some cases even a whole herd or even a couple different animals will follow the warrior.
Diana should have been a lady, but her soul was never ment for house work. Follow her as she fights for rank and unknowingly falls in love.

*****BOOK ONE****** Set in a continent called Irevalen, where the skies are ruled by dragon-shifters - immortal beings who can take human form, but never fully shed their beast. Centuries ago, a Blood Treaty was made between dragons and the last surviving human kingdom. To maintain balance and peace, a dragon from the royal bloodline must bond with a human every 500 years - not just a marriage, but a soul-binding, deep magic deal that ensures dragons don't destroy the mortal realm with their fire and fury. The catch? The human bride is always chosen by fate. No one picks. No one can refuse. Or so they say. --- 🔥 The Male Lead: Kaelith Vyron, the current heir to the SKYCOURT throne - feared warrior, emotionless strategist, and cold-blooded dragon prince. Has rejected the idea of love his whole life. Is terrified of what the soul-bond might do to him (dragons who bond can be consumed by obsession). Is pissed that fate tied him to a weak, mortal girl. Thinks she'll break. Plans to scare her off. But she doesn't. And it wrecks him. --- 🕊️ The Female Lead: Liora Vane, 22-year-old healer's apprentice from the far southern coast. Orphaned young. Grew up with books, herbs, and freedom. Hates the idea of fate deciding who she marries. Thinks dragons are cruel, inhuman monsters. When she's taken from her village and presented to Kaelith, she fights back - hard. Swears she'll never belong to him. But then... she sees pieces of his humanity. And it terrifies her more than the fire ever did.

QUOTES: "He tried to kill you...but I'm the monster?" "You're not going to win...if you keep standing there." "For time twists all stories with age." 🗡️💖FINISHED BOOK 1 💖🗡️ SUMMARY TEASER One would think a princess has it easy, or extremely hard. Vaylene, on the rarer hand, has nothing at all. In her world, staying inside of the walls is key to protection. Regular citizens rarely, hardly leave and travel into the dark woods. Vaylene realizes with a fright that she never knew she was so afraid of the night until she looked at those same forests with the moon held high. Because...what lies beyond the meadow was nothing to be excited about. So she's told. And yet, when she's offered a piece to savor with an nasty, monstrous aftertaste, why does she feel the blood rushing through her veins? Why does she feel the need to run and never look back but stays still all the same? In the movies and in the stories, it all ends up well. She gets the happy ending. But what if she realizes too late life wasn't a book? What if things get more complicated than that, and even the villain isn't clear? What happens when she ventures outside of the walls that have been created to protect her, sister in tow, in search of a reason? Pulled into a world of monsters schemes, adventures, Chain-Toppers and war working under the only thing remotely close to a demon, she has no hope other than to save her sister. How much can she get away with? And how much will she lose? When the evil is unclear and nothing is simple like it should be in a fairy tale, is the past really so simple and plain as it's been told? If not, how will everyone move forward from the haunting past of MoonCaster looming over every shoulder? Could anyone really forget the damage done by merciless teeth? The action in this story progresses as the plot does! So please me patient 🥺🥺 Thank you for discovering and taking the time to explore my worl

Torin has always felt out of place in his small village. Despite the familiarity of his surroundings, he cannot shake the feeling that he doesn't belong. He longs for a place where he can truly be himself, away from the expectations of his people, a life free of the stifling weight of conformity. His dreams are filled with a sense of belonging, a vision of a life where he is accepted for who he is, not for who others expect him to be. One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here." In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes. He chooses to defy the world he's always known, running away with the dragon, escaping the village that never understood him. As they journey together, seeking refuge in the wilds, they encounter other teens-four others-each of whom carries their own special gift. They, too, are misfits. One has the power to control the wind, another can manipulate shadows, a third can speak to animals, and the last can heal with a touch. The group of them, united by their unique abilities, form an unlikely family.

Astraeus, a baby dragon, escapes from his old coven and stumbles upon a little shop that he spends months stealing from and hiding in to survive. The witch and familiars who live there are... strange. They know he takes from them but don't put up different wards, don't do things that could hurt him. They know that he has a hide out in the aster tree, that he lives close-instead of getting rid of him and forcing him to move, they visit him. Talk to him, leave him things, they're kind. Different. Stranger than any other witch or familiar he's ever met. Stray is not used to things that don't hurt. The gentleness is terrifying. He'd rather stay away from them than learn why they don't have sharp tongues or bruised knuckles. However, on the night of a bad storm, he gets trapped inside of the shop, trapped with kind strangers. After getting caught, he discovers another dragon. He learns that life is not meant to be painful. He learns that he can be loved. He's allowed to want things with them. To eat, to not fear the cold, to live instead of survive. Everything changes and Stray is determined to make them his hoard, to make it complete.
