Promise?

"I know loosing your first child was like chopping your heart into pieces with your ex wife. But I promise you that I'll give you a child."

"Promise?"

I smiled with a tear steaming down my left cheek,"Promise." I whispered.

That was until I figured out that if I had brought a life into this world, I would be risking mine.
