I had lost everything. There was no one apart from Dan left. I had all the money in my household in my suitcase, not enough to keep myself alive for a few days whilst having a hotel room. I had to choose: roof over my head or food. I chose food. We weren't far from New York. I could get a train ticket to New York but where would I go? Christopher Street was my only option, our only option. I had Dan, I could survive.
