"Why would you love someone like me?", I felt myself say.

"Because there is no one as special as you." He grabbed my arm and pulled me close to him

If only he knew about my secret.

The last thing I have heard was the sound of grinding metal. That was 7 years ago. Now all i hear is silence around me. Truth is no one at my school knows about my hearing loss. I often get picked on by everyone around me, since i don't talk. It's not that i can't understand what they are saying. I can understand them just fine since i can read their lips. I just choose to not pay attention to them. Since my parents died, i live on the horse farm with my best friend Jacob and his mom. Everything was fine. Well at least until he came along. A ruthless cowboy who's a total ladies man.
