It's taken a lot for Barry to realize how he truly felt for Adam. Barry nearly wiped out the entirety of life on earth, and just about saved it. He's broken, alone, and with no purpose in life. The idea of his whole life spent in and around the hive is killing him, slowly eating away at him; and only his dorky, lanky, sting-less friend can save him.
