After Eragon, Saphira, Glaedr, and the Eldunarí leave Alagaësia, they raise the next generation of Dragon Riders. When a human orphan named Alicia becomes the next Dragon Rider, she is bonded with the pale pink dragon Pyrope. They are an unusual pair.

Life is good, living on the island of the Dragon Riders. They soon rise up to be friends with Eragon and Saphira and the Eldunarí; they go on adventures across the land. 

But when Eragon goes missing on one of his quests, its up to Alicia and Pyrope to find him.  And when they do, its deadly. The fate of the elves, Urgals, dwarves, humans, Alagaësia and Surda rest in their hands. Only theirs. And they just might meet a few friends along the way, new and old.

But the problem is, can they save Eragon before its too late?
