Coming Back

I woke up this morning to an empty spot next to me in bed. I got up and went to the kitchen. There was Kert, making bread. I went over and kissed him. "Good morning." He said. I went over to the door and said. "I'm going to check on the wall. I'll be right back." Then I left. I did indeed check on the wall, but I also went back to the spot I had first met Max. I sat there thinking about what I had dreamed about the night before. Again I dreamed about the battle on top of the dark tower. We were there to get Max home. But that was 4 years ago.
