Sam Miller is not your average athlete for she is tall, strong & powerful not mention very tough, smart, vocal, driven, and extremely headstrong, and one might say that she had everything that one would need to be able to play her sport at the next level. Oh did we mention that she is the only girl on the Northfield High boys hockey team?
Sam's life is going just the way she wanted it too before it was announced that the school was forming a girls hockey team, and that Sam was going to be the face of this new team which causes a sense of excitement to everyone except Sam. As much as she hates the idea of a girls hockey team, she agrees to be a part of the team, mostly so that she can fulfill her own selfish desires and pursue her personal goals even if it means giving up other parts of her life that once meant something to Sam like her faith, rather then care about the goals of the team.
But all that changes when Sam meets Holley, a shy & awkward nerd, who also happens to be an elite hockey player, and AJ- a mysterious girl who knows a thing or two about playing hockey as well as life.
After a rocky start, a bond forms between Sam, Holley and AJ, and from that first meeting to the championship game, we see this bond as it becomes a friendship between the three of them, and it is in part due to this friendship that both Holley and AJ mange to teach Sam some lifelong lessons both on the off the ice, and it's through what Sam learns in these teachings that help her to see that there is more to life, including what it means to be a better person, and what it means to become "saved".
Athena Yondoris lives a simple life. She's a straight-A student in her school. She loves going to parties, and dressing up pretty. She likes to keep a low profile in her high school. Saying that she is a hopeless romantic would be an understatement. She dreams of finding the love that she reads about in her cute, little books. A people pleaser at heart, she is nice with everyone. Except Xavier King. Cold, rude and reckless, he is the perfect example of the kind of people Athena wants nothing to do with. But destiny has other plans...
Xavier King lives an extravagant life. Captain of the ice hockey team, impossibly rich with looks that could kill, he has everything a man would love to have, which includes girls running after him and worshipping his very existence. His life seems to be perfect, with his large group of friends, and a loving family. He wants nothing to do with Athena Yondoris, or does he?
All it takes is one plea for tutoring, and a few months of fake dating for the line between love and hate to blur.
