Complicated was a word Mae Jacobs found herself straying from for a long time, but as everything is, all good things must come to an end. She finally felt the sting of the pain as she found herself floating between rock bottom and suffering from a broken heart. Her father's death didn't surprise her at all. It just killed a piece of her everyday to see him suffering and lying in a bed in agony. "Any day now", she repeated, but no matter how prepared she was it wouldn't stop the internal bleeding that drained her soul out. She'd heal herself by letting all the anger and sorrow flood into her like a river and waited until it evaporated into thin air making her numb. Her mother on the hand had her twisted ways of healing that sent Mae ballistic. She found her mother sleeping with countless men who occasionally tried to get their way with Mae but were unsuccessful. Her mother was a lost cause, being a sex-addict and druggie. Mae couldn't take anymore complication. When Brody Dye came waltzing back into her life she contemplated whether it was complication he was striving for or simplexity. Their relationship had never been sweet or simple. She knew him, she knew his messy story and why he was looked at as a bad guy. When all he ever was were damaged goods. He never did stick around long enough to hear her story. Then again, she never gave him the chance. Will they make it through the pain and dark stories they walk or will complication send them fleeing their separate ways?
