If you asked someone what they thought about May Swan, they'd all tell you the same thing. She was a sweet, friendly 17-year-old who got along with everyone-well, Everyone except the La Push cult and Edward Cullen. It was extremely rare for the people of Forks, Washington, to find someone May couldn't get along with, so when she got caught slapping the Cullen boy, the town was quick to assume the worst of him. Not that he really minded; in his opinion, it made it easier to blend into the background. If you asked Edward Cullen what he thought about May Swan, you'd get the same answer as everyone else. She was this rare ray of sunshine in the town, a Junior student at Forks High who had managed to make his entire family like her... and whose mind was a confusing maze of scientific theories and song lyrics. Contrary to that, the La Push Cult - as Jacob Black liked to call them - had no real feelings about May Swan. She was the Police Chiefs daughter, the goddaughter of Billy Black and one of the few people in Forks Washington who had the guts to punch Sam Uley after his break up with Leah Clearwater. But the Cullens and Wolves were about to know much more about May Swan than she had ever anticipated-especially one hot-headed shifter with a deep hatred of The Cold Ones.
