Act I:
The discovery of an ancient temple has the residents of Ponyville in an uproar, but what lies inside will ultimately decide the fate of not only Equestria, but of the whole world.
After her daughter Nyx and friends stumble upon a old and broken shrine within the Everfree Forest, Twilight Sparkle sets out to study the incredible find. But not all is what it seems, for something lies within its centuries old walls. A sleeping power that has rested silently for over 9,000 years. A power that holds the keys to the future, and the secrets of the past.
A power that will soon be awakened.

Act II:
The residents of Ponyville are in the process of repairing their home, but a letter from the Crystal Empire has Novis, Twilight, Nyx, Spike, and Rarity on the fastest train to the kingdom.
Celestia and Luna are helping Shining Armor tend to Princess Cadence who, after long mouths of waiting, has finally given birth. Twilight and Nyx are both excited by the news, while Novis has finally put his past behind him and is now friends with the Princess of Friendship.
But as their train makes it's way to the Empire, it is soon clear that they are not alone. A presence is among them, and soon its plans will wreak havoc upon our unsuspecting heroes.

By the way, the story contains a lot of No More Heroes/Bayonetta influences, and some Devil May Cry ones earlier on. Also, please keep in mind that while I do try to write the characters canon to the show as accurately as I can, I try to write them with a bit more sincerity, as if they're people instead of cartoon ponies. Then again, take my attempt at a more realistic portrayal of the characters with a grain of salt. I'm still an amateur writer after all, so whether or not the characters do actually act like more realistic versions of the characters from the show is up to you to judge. All non-original characters, locations and concepts (eg, Fluttershy, Equestria, Elements of Harmony) belong to Hasbro.Complete

In getting his powers back, he then seeks to find his old friend, and patch things up, but in the end, is this friend really worth saving. After which, a couple years later, Shallow trains to fight an evil that will soon come to Equestria. In figuring out how to get rid of it, something terrible occurs.
