Lily Evans knew all too well that with being the School Head Girl came major responsibilities but what she didn't know was that it came with James Potter too.
After the infamous public rejection to James' proposal in sixth year, Lily had no doubt that he would do anything to get her on a date, to restore this lost reputation, which would inevitably annoy and anger her to no ends; but the opposite happened. James stopped his childish plays, started giving Lily her space and took no notice of her. It was exactly what she wanted all along. Lily had no reason to complain and wish otherwise, till a change of reasoning happens.
