To some, death comes sooner.
At the young age of sixteen Eleanor Thompson went to nowhere. But she wasn't really "dead." Or at least what others think being dead means. Death, in fact, is actually an organization. Some chose to be part of it and save the living, but others go the wrong way, they go to the "other side."
Right after her journey to nowhere she joins death. There, she helps the "Ghost of Overland High" and her new recruits to face the Lost Ones.
But there is a greater evil threatening both the living and the dead. And that evil isn't willing to wait any longer.
