A senior in high school named Leylah Baker has always dreamt of running her own bakery. She was enlisted in the culinary program at her school all four years there, and in the tiny little town of Grottoes, Virgina, she hopes to make things easier on the residents there. If she could start a bakery that got big enough, she could raise enough attention to keep her city on the map. However, what Leylah ends up drawing attention to is a bit of a big secret.

Michael Redmont returns to Greenwood after three years of traveling and receives a reality check when his book manuscript gets rejected, yet his biggest difficulty is not writing but keeping up a relationship. His twin brother Luke is working hard on opening his bakery to stop living in his father's shadow and forget about a woman who almost brought him to madness. Jordan Tanner, Luke's roommate, hasn't seen his girlfriend in months and crushing on a club singer has him doubting if his relationship was ever serious. The twins' cousin, Oliver Walker, struggles to fit in as the new teacher in his school while dating a freshly grad from vet school. Tristan, Oliver's brother, puts an end to a loveless relationship and hesitates about beginning a new one with his colleague of many years and now manager.
