If you consider abusive parents and having to deal with the loss of her older brother Josh for over 5 years perfect, I guess so. The only people holding her up were Christopher, her best friend since grade school, which later must explain some hard news to Brooklyn. As well as Courtney, the new girl in class, that sticks up for Brooklyn, but one day leaves unexpectedly...
The three meet a couple in the class, named Payton and Blake. They become good friends, or as they thought. Were they best friends? Not the least, but were they cool enough? Definitely.
She meets Luka, this cute boy in her Freshman English class that she kind of has a thing for. Her and Luka soon grow to be close friends, but Luka becomes furious once he receives an answer from Brooklyn he didn't want to hear.
The day Courtney passes away is a heart breaking one. A day no one will be able to live down. A day of regret. Life goes on for the two, but will it ever be the same?
