The Arch Alpha of April

"Brex."
"Yes father?" I scramble up from the ground where I laid pinned below my opponent to meet my father's ever judging gaze. He stands taller than ever, his hair salt and pepper, a familiar ghost of a smile on his lips. In truth my father is ancient in the sense that he's lived many years. I am a pup of only ten years old, fiercely devoted to my father and his purpose. My father is an Arch Alpha, of the April pack. He named the pack after my mother who passed away during childbirth. She loved him before he became an Alpha, and died before she could see him become one. I am my father's only child and only son. I am the only heir to the Arch Alpha of April.
--In life there are choices. In life there are paths. For Brex Gatley, these choices and paths have been taken away and replaced with a hopelessnes he cannot shake. He is a killer, a hit-man for his pack, April. All he was taught was blood, kill, there is nothing else. Yet Brex knows there is something that doesn't bind him to April, to his father and the ways of an Arch Alpha. There is something for him away from April and his father. There are people outside of this militaristic way of life he's always lived. There is something more to him than being a monster.
