Meet Hayley Kai Henderson; fifteen, single, orphaned. It is left in their will that Hayley must stay with the closest relative, geographically. And that means she must stay with Aunt Gertrude; an uppity, harsh, and all around rude old lady. The first few days, it seems as if Gertrude is walking on eggshells around Hayley. But soon after, she lets her have it, slaughtering her with verbal and physical abuse. He lets her go soon after and spreads vicious rumors about the school, causing the bullying to worsen. Her grief counsler tells her it'll all blow over, but she doesn't believe it.
