Meet Hayley Kai Henderson; fifteen, single, orphaned. On one balmy spring day, her parents' lives are torn away mysteriously, leaving behind Hayley, at the mall, shopping with her two best friends; Addison Cray and Kaylee Smith. It is left in their will that Hayley must stay with the closest relative, geographically. And that means she must stay with Aunt Gertrude; an uppity, harsh, and all around rude old lady. The first few days, it seems as if Gertrude is walking on eggshells around Hayley. But soon after, she lets her have it, slaughtering her with verbal and physical abuse. To let out pain, Hayley secretly begins a cycle of self harm. However, she has to hide it, or Gertrude would simply explode. A month later, she meets the most gorgeous boy, quite possibly ever. Unbelievably, he asks her out! After a few dates, Hayley begins to trust him with her life, so she lets out everything that has been happening to her; abuse, death of her parents, self-harm... He lets her go soon after and spreads vicious rumors about the school, causing the bullying to worsen. Her grief counsler tells her it'll all blow over, but she doesn't believe it. While all this stress is pressing down on her, she is trying to dig up how her parents died. Will she susceed, or will stress dissolve her?
