This is a NEW story and a departure for me. It is incomplete as I am still working on it. Here is a brief blurb: Crime; horror; and a lot of snark; what's not to like? After a devastating home invasion, Emily is left reeling and griefstricken. Her pregnant daughter-in-law is dead as are her hopes for a grandchild to ease her grief after her son's untimely death. To add the final bitter straw, the family of the man who killed her daughter-in-law is suing Alicia for wrongful death after she managed to kill him during their struggle. All Emily wants is to get away. Years before when "civilization" got to be too much, Emily went walkabout. Sure, it's an Australian concept for an adolescent Aborigine's spiritual journey and she's neither Australian nor an adolescent, but sometimes, simple concepts transcend continents to become universal. And now, amidst the stress of daily life, Emily feels the need to go on a spiritual journey to rediscover what is important. Or at least to find a reason to live. Only when she goes camping with a friend, they find a hostile force in the swamp, a force that turns the swamp into a killing ground and her walkabout into a struggle to survive.

She's worked with two notorious killers for years, but now she's in an interrogation room while the team at the BAU try to grill information out of her. Where are they? Why did you do it? Why do you kill like that? Why do you spend so long with your victims and most importantly - why were you so easy to find? Spencer's on the other side of the mirror, observing her body language. She doesn't flinch, her eyes don't twitch or move from the desk but she's trying to hide one thing - her index finger rapidly tapping against her thigh. It doesn't take a genius to see her brows furrow a fraction of an inch when she says one sentence. "They are my family." She's a liar. A thief. A murderer. But shes innocent. And they just gave her a job. ••••• On the cover, it says 'Spencerreidsgirlf'. It was my old username which I can't be arsed to change because I like the cover, and I think it's getting my fanfic attention so...enjoy!
