J.P. is spending the summer after his high school graduation in suspense, waiting to see if he's accepted into his dream college. Meanwhile, though, he spends his days working full-time at Happy Pets, a small, not-so-successful pet store, under the thumb of his insufferable boss.
What makes it bearable is his unique ability to speak to the animals, and the comforting presence of a single silent fish.
But can he handle the added pressures from family, and find hope even when he thinks the world is turned against him?
