The Fallouts

It has been one hundred years since the nuclear World War between USA and Russia. The surface is believed to still be barren and poisonous. The colonies below are running out of supplies. Each year since the fiftieth anniversary of the war, four people from each colony, referred to as the Fallouts, are tasked with going topside to scavenge for resources, collect data, and search for habitable land. No Fallout has ever returned. Kora, a charcoal-smudged scavenger from the poorest ranks is chosen to be a Fallout. On the surface, she encounters what might as well be an entirely different planet: a wild, toxic desert full of twisted plants and animals. Will she manage to succeed and make it back? Or will she be another victim of the radioactive wasteland?
