My name is Evangeline Mortem. I'm a regular Hunter. Well, I was until some guy in a bloody trench coat surprised one night and almost gave me a heart attack. Stabbed him too. But what can I say? Isn't that how friendships start these days?

    Evangeline 'Evie' Mortem is a dangerous hunter. She is ruthless, determined, stubborn, and skilled at her job. But, she constantly bleeds from her heart. Her entire family, Hunters and non-hunters,  were murdered in their sleep by a demon, and Evie's hell bent on finding the bastard and killing him herself. 
    
    But one day, an angel in a trench coat taps her shoulder in the middle of the night, and she and him embark on a quest that no other hunter dare venture on. She and the Angel have to find a creature that is more powerful than any demon and angel army combined. A creature that could destroy the world as we know it. Does that stop Evie and the Angel? No. Of course not. But Evie and the angel aren't the only ones looking for this creature; not-so-nice angels, monsters and demons are also on the hunt. They must destroy the creature before anyone else gets their hands on it. Evie is thrown into a celestial war, with demons, angels and other heavenly creatures. 
    
    What can a mortal do in a battle between powerful immortals?
