Myra Waugh is a 24 year old high school teacher. She was, she thought, an ordinary girl who fell in love at 18, got married at 19 and divorced at 22. Now living alone, picking up the pieces of a broken relationship she tries to seek comfort in her job, which is teaching English literature to sophomores at River Valley High School. Everything seems dull and comfortable until she meets Marc Hollander,16, drop dead gorgeous, and extremely dangerous . He could have any girl he wanted in River Valley High. But he has his eyes set on her. As Myra tries her best to fight what she knows to be a forbidden liaison, she begins to realize to her discomfort that Marc, despite his age is a ruthless hunter. He is that rare breed who know even at a tender age what they are capable of and the effect they have have on members of the opposite sex. Caught between her solitude and Marc's irresistible charm, Myra struggles to walk the line between romance and scandal.

Layla is twenty years old, carrying invisible scars that never seem to heal. Her childhood was shaped by fear, control, and an abusive father whose presence still haunts her long after she escaped him. Nightmares plague her sleep, vivid and relentless, blurring the line between past and present. By the time she walks into her classroom each day, she's already exhausted-emotionally raw, guarded, and desperate to keep herself together long enough to survive another lecture, another reminder that she's supposed to be normal now. That's when she encounters Professor Natalie Harizanova. Natalie Harizanova is not the kind of professor students forget. She is razor-sharp, cold, and unyieldingly strict, with an icy composure that silences a room the moment she enters it. Students fear her without fully understanding why, and even fellow professors avoid lingering near her, lowering their voices or stepping aside when she passes. Disrespect doesn't exist in her presence-she cuts it down before it can breathe. Her bitterness is controlled, deliberate, and intimidating, and she takes her classroom seriously, demanding absolute focus, order, and discipline from everyone inside it. Natalie isn't here to entertain, nurture, or soften the edges for anyone-especially not Layla. From the moment their paths cross, Natalie sees something fractured beneath Layla's surface, something uncertain and malleable. What begins as strict instruction turns into something far more unsettling. Natalie teaches Layla lessons that go beyond textbooks and lectures-lessons about power and desire, obedience and discipline, control and consequence. Each interaction leaves Layla questioning herself, her reactions, and the pull she feels toward the woman who both terrifies and fascinates her.
