This is a poem about  the remains of what was once a hall where Richard Monkton Milnes lived. It became derelict and in 1934 it was demolished and its stones used to make a church. As a small girl I was fascinated with this place and used to sit in the remains for hours. Locally it's believed that there and the surrounding woodland is haunted  by a White Lady apparition and I always fancied that it was the spectre of the hall rather than a spirit.All Rights Reserved
