I've lived at this school for the entirety of my life, and never have I met someone who intrigued me as much as he did.

At first, he was really popular, and had no problem boasting about random things. He seemed like a jock, but I never saw him playing sports. I figured he was probably just in a sport that I didn't see often. How wrong I was.

After a few weeks, his effect seemed to wear off. Nobody hung around him as much, and it was obvious his courageous mask had been shattered to pieces. That's where I came in. I decided to step in and offer a friendship. Though I didn't know why, or exactly what my place was to be talking to someone formerly the most popular kid in school, I just felt drawn to him.

Sadly, I felt something more than friendship bubble in my chest, and I didn't know what. Then one day, I finally figured it out.
