Carl Richards is an inspector at the peak of his career. Well, actually no, he's a 70 year old man with Alzheimers. All he can remember is is a case from thirty-nine years ago, when he WAS at the peak of his career. It's a serial killer who leaves almost no clues, and a "strangely inspirational quote" after every murder. ------ I remember that case and the year I spent working on it like it all happened yesterday. Actually, I remember it much better than the boring day I was forced to spend in the hospital yesterday. You could even say I remember it better than anything these days, with the Alzheimer's beginning to set in. Thirty-nine years later, that case is the only thing still on, and in, my mind. That case, and the events surrounding it, changed my life, forever. ------- Cover credits go, as always, to @Fandomgeneration A little bit of editing done by @Nomad147 Also my mom, who read through every word with me to check my grammar. And a HUGE thanks to my english teacher who assigned us a 3-5 page narrative that became 14 pages long. You're the best! (And apparently she likes my ending.

Her hands shook violently as she dialed the 7 digits to call her big brother. Her heart was beating so loud, and fast in her mind. She was shaking nervously as she put the phone to her ear. She did a silent prayer hoping he would pick up. She was lucky he even picked up at 2 in the morning. "Hello?" his deep voice flowed through the phone. "Kianna?" he asked a little worried. "I-I killed him." she forced out as she cried out loud. "I killed him, Leon. I-I d-didn't mean t-to!" she cried louder. That night changed her life forever.
