Dawn and Chaos. Light and Darkness. Fire and Ice. Two of the Eight Creators who fight the pull to one another more than any of the other six. But its been centuries since Eros last saw Chaos. Since the great flood wrecked the World and her fire melted his ice. But the urge to see Chaos was growing once again. So fierce she wasn't sure how much longer she could resist. She just had to hold out until her heir could take over. Because Dawn didn't think Earth would survive another connection with her mate in every sense of the word.
For some say the world will end in fire, others say ice. But if Eros knew anything about her lover, heart, mate, and soul...she knew it would end in desire.

CONTAINS VIOLENCE AND DEPICTIONS OF CHARACTER DEATH, AS WELL AS SWEARING READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. ----------------- Kairos had always loved Emelithil; the way she chose her words like a spider weaving its web, the way she'd always been so stubborn and competitive-- but never enough to come off us ignorant or naive. Even though they had always fought for something different, he never could have imagined just how far they would drift apart. There was no way he could ever be prepared for what he was about to do to her though. What he did was unthinkable, impossible even. He spent every day by her side after he saved her life, tending to her injuries during her coma, while dealing with the guilt of it all being his, and only his fault. Desperately, he tries to find forgiveness and reconnect with his best friend and crush, but her betrayal burns Fire Red. ----------------- Written for CRW Introduction to Short Story Writing at Flagler College in September 2022, Final revision in December 2022 ----------------- Status: Completed © _elixxir
