"Let me repeat your order: a large iced caramel latte." She made sure to put emphasis on pronouncing caramel as carmel.

"Caramel," slipped out of my mouth.

She had a marker in her hand, and she pointed it at me, shaking her head. "Carmel."

I stuck my tongue out. I actually stuck my tongue out at a complete stranger. Oh God, I was sure I would recall this ten years from now and fall apart with embarrassment, while she wouldn't even remember my face.

But I really wanted her to remember my face.
