Stella Attkinson is a 16 year old girl trying to figure out life and it's many obstacles, just like the rest of us. Her family consists of her dad, Mr. Howard Attkinson, her mom, Mrs. Attkinson, and her little brother Danny, who may seem mischievous to the naked eye, but loves his sister dearly. Then there's her best friend, Miri, who gives her life's greatest advice, and the greatest adventures. As for Jude? ...It's complicated...
One autumn night, Stella, Miri, and Jude decide to go to Lake Street Diner for some burgers after a grueling study session. Stella let's Danny come with them to fantasize over his crush on Miri, and Jude's older brother, Jackson, drives. Once there, they run into Jude's despicable (yes, despicable) cousin, Xander, who despises everyone and everything. During his rage, he begins to threaten Danny, and Jackson looses it. Jude and Miri are able to break up the fight while Stella comforts Danny, and then they get in the car and drive away into the foggy night, to be anywhere but there.
After that, nothing is the same.
