When he, usually a rich prince in shining armor, did come, her story would end.  This similarity always angered me, even from that very young age. 
 Why would Cinderella wish for a prince when she could wish to have her evil mother and stepsisters disappear?  Why wouldn't Rapunzel just let herself down using her hair and make a grand life for herself?  Why wouldn't Snow White wish for a woodsman, or  for the evil queen to simply forget her?"
