Charlotte Lewis had a problem, a big problem in fact. Out of impulse, she hurt herself and her parents shipped her off to England to finish out her high school career. Charlotte didn't mind though because it let her run away from her problems that needed solving but that's just how she dealt with things then. She was sixteen at the time and was mixed up. Instead of only having herself to blame she blamed her best friend, Kellin, as well, considering he caused her this pain and heartache. But what happens after Charlotte has to return home five years later and face the problems-and people- she left behind?

In the polished, privileged halls of an elite American high school, seventeen-year-old Angel Carex grasps his golden ticket-a full scholarship that saves him from the crushing poverty of his life back in Ghana. The future looks bright, until the chrome plating starts to bleed. The dream devolves into a nightmare when he stumbles upon the shocking murder of a new friend. This is no isolated incident; a sinister pattern of mysterious deaths grips the school, turning every shadow into a potential grave and every whispered rumor into a scream. The fear is visceral, making Angel doubt his choice to ever leave home. But the most terrifying revelation is yet to come. The menace he seeks lies not in the student body, but in his own fractured mind. Angel uncovers a grotesque psychological malfunction, a dark mirror where his innocent scholar persona clashes with the impulse of a primal, ravaging psychopath. Now, trapped in a blood-soaked institution where the next victim could be anyone-or perhaps, everyone-Angel is racing against the clock and his own impending insanity. Who is the real killer? The answer might be closer than he dares to look. Unmask the darkness in this gripping psychological thriller that asks: what happens when the monster in the mirror is you?
