It was never supposed to be like this. In a world ravaged by hunger and infertility. It was supposed to promote repopulation, but it did something much worse.
When they announced that Japan's population was dwindling, and that they needed female volunteers to help promote repopulation, proud men gladly offered their wives. It was an all too innocent request, that spiralled out of everyone's control.
Matsuoka Minori always believed the world was a wonderful place, until she turned thirteen and had her first period. Ever since then, she and her sister Hitomi have been running from a predetermined fate she couldn't escape even if the earth's axis shifted.
Kojima Naoki thought she was safe, far, far away from the horrors of Japan's fertile capital, the Hiyokuna, hiding with a bunch of women who believed they cheated fate. But when a handsome military captain shows up half dead on her front yard, she's not so sure anymore.

But things often don't go as hoped. The nation of Japan suddenly wakes up to the heavens above them having been rewritten in what seemed like divine premonition. A familiar, yet otherwise alien world awaited them beyond the shores that had kept them safe. As the vices of globalization threatened to wreck havoc and condemn the Japanese state into obscurity, it was up to newly elected Prime Minister Takamori Hideaki and his administration to face this challenge of epic proportions. Paying homage to みのろう's Summoning Japan (Nihonkoku Shoukan, NHS) as a fan-made work, this story will also follow Japan, but explores a completely different world. On one New Year's Eve, the moment the International Date Line welcomed the new year first, the change occurred. Communications between nations were severed, climates shifted, and unknown lands emerged. Eventually, as each country gathered information and realized they had somehow been transported to another world, their reactions varied. America: "FUCK YEAH! Frontier time, baby!" Russia: "FUCK YEAH! It's warmer now, and the vodka tastes even better!" China: "FUCK YEAH! Not sure what's going on, but there's a ton of stuff that looks edible!" Ellie is a soldier in a world without governments. A generation ago, a series of financial crises caused most of the world’s governments to collapse, and left many of the people in those countries in terrible personal debt. Since then, the worst debtor nations have been under military occupation by the troops of the debt recovery corporations, and the worst debtor of all is Měi-guó, the old United States. Ellie is serving in the Afghan Police Action when she receives bad news from home. She is told the daughter she hasn’t seen in years is dead. She flies home from war, upset, to do what needs to be done, but once there she finds out all is not as it seems. Ellie’s daughter is alive and unhurt. She is being held by of one of the many debt-recovery corporations. Held, for leverage, to make Ellie do the corporation a favour. Ellie’s daughter will be returned unharmed if Ellie does as they wish. The son of a company director is lost somewhere in the wilderness of post-debt-restructuring America, and hasn't been seen for three days. The company wants Ellie to go and find the kid, and Ellie doesn't know if she can. The one rule she's stuck to all her working life is to never to go to America, but now she might have to. She will have to, if she wants to save the daughter she hasn't seen in years.
