Mitch isn't ready for responsibility. And this hasn't changed with, or without, the new extraordinary ability. Who could he help with a self-serving power anyway?
What was he going to do? Change their temperature to Hypothermia? Thus killing himself too?
That's smart.

So Mitch keeps it to himself, going on with his life without so much as an eye-bat.

That is, before he realizes his power is much more than just a sleep-inducer and comfort guarantee, but only after he kills someone.

Oh, and he's forced into a white space to learn of another power he has (that completely traumatized him and now he will never be able to sleep, or think, or daydream for that matter, without seeing that whitewhitewhitewhite--).

But he'll be fine.

He'll fake it if he has to.
