"Hello! My name is Naina. Nice to meet you, Sir!" she introduced herself, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Hello, Ms. Naina," he greeted back, his throat tight with emotion.
They clinked their champagne-filled glasses, their smiles masking deeper feelings as their eyes remained locked on each other.
"I missed you, Manik... I missed you so much!!" she thought to herself.
"I missed you too, my Nandu!!" he thought silently, his heart heavy with unsaid words.
"Hey Naina, I'm so happy you came. Meet the love of my life, my husband, Mr. Manik Malhotra. Isn't he great?" Sonia interrupted their peaceful moment.
"Yes, he is... indeed," Nandini replied, her voice steady despite holding back tears. She excused herself and hurriedly left the gathering.
"I'm sorry, Nandini... I'm so sorry!!" Manik closed his eyes, consumed by regret.
"I'll never forgive you, Manik!! I'll never forgive you!!" Nandini cried uncontrollably, feeling utterly betrayed.
