Lucie Preston is feared and envied: she has an underwear-model boyfriend, stunning looks and a wardrobe to kill for. As a member of the exclusive “Lip-gloss Mafia”, she and her three best friends see the world through rose-tinted Chanel glasses: promiscuous Karen has had more STDs than a tin of alphabet spaghetti; dippy Jodie has never been the sharpest stiletto in the closet; and neurotic Beth suffers from an incurable case of IBS – Irritable Boyfriend Syndrome. Their hometown of Meredith Harbour is so sleepy that it’s bordering on comatose, so when a jealous prankster called The Mannequin – who seems to be reading from a “How to Speak like a Psycho” handbook – starts plaguing Lucie with vicious phone-calls and pranks, everyone believes that she is vying for attention. Even her younger sister, Ellie, seems to wonder if Lucie is one boob short of a cleavage. But The Mannequin’s pranks soon turn deadly. Her friend Beth is viciously attacked and those closest to her soon become victims of his cruel vendetta. And Lucie knows that she is next. As The Mannequin closes in on her, Lucie realises that she will do anything to stay alive for the January sales – as long as she doesn’t break a nail.

People can be such judgmental morons sometimes. I mean, really. Just because I have straight dark hair, puffy cheeks, brown eyes and huge glasses, doesn't make me some goody-two-shoes innocent nerd. I have so much more to me than my grades and oh-so-sweet looks. It's just super sad that people don't ever pause to think before making assumptions about you that are completely wrong more often than not. It's so infuriating!! Megan Riley is no stranger to the phrase "Looks can be deceiving". But when her friends and she plan a prank on "badboys" that goes awry, Meg finds herself making presumptions about alleged badboy Alex Richards, and the truth leaves her shocked. Join Megan and her friends as they discover secrets about each other and themselves, in a story full of laughter, love, and...you guessed it, judgmental morons!
