She was amiss - out of place - and, coincidentally, also out of time.
Her mother used to say, 'Everything happens for a reason'. But Jen was struggling to find a plausible reason why the universe would pluck her out of the comfortable 21st Century and discard her in 17th Century France; a million miles away from home.
As returning to her own time grows evermore unlikely and she's pinched herself enough times to make certain of her reality, Jen must learn to adapt to her new surroundings and do what at first seemed impossible: survive.
But as women's rights are seemingly non-existent - the only "jobs" available being that of wife, barmaid, servant or whore - Jen is more inclined towards the more unsavoury tactics of survival.
