My name is Emerald Crane, 2nd daughter of Head Gamemaker, Seneca Crane. Whoop-dee-frikin-do. I live in the Capitol. Always have. Born and bred. I live in the Seneca District, which was named after, the one and only, Mr. Jackass himself. I hate him, his job, his life, my life, and pretty much everything else about here. I’m about to leave it all behind. But, before I start that story, I better start from the beginning.

My friends and I role play a lot in this website called chatzy.com. We have this whole world mapped out based on the Hunger Games. We live in two mansions. One is the main mansion, where we all used to live until it got really crowded, and then the second mansion belongs to Gracie. Her mansion is by a waterfall, just a ten minute walk away. Most of us have super powers. I mean, if the Capitol can make mutts, surely we can give ourselves super powers. Gracie has black wings, Talia has super speed, Chris has super strength, Derrick can make himself invisible. Nina can make herself invisible and make force fields too. We all have issues here. Sierra doesn't talk. Chris is a germaphobe. Chase cuts himself. We all have reasons for running away from the districts and the Capitol, but we've all found sanctuary here. This is the second book of our adventures, a sequel to Outside the Districts.
