I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and put my face so close to him, that I could feel his breath on me. It was minty, with a hint of cinnamon. His startling grey eyes were filled with confusion at my sudden action. I stared into them. They were so solid, so bright, the exact lustrous color of a polished shard of metal. There were swirls of glittering onyx black and tinges of blue at the edges.

"Hey, I never asked, but what is your name?" I questioned.

"Um, its Kiran.....what are you doing?" he asked nervously. Kiran, that's unusual, but I like it.

"I'm Aria," I said. "Hey, Kiran, how would you like to be my first and last kiss?"

Kiran's eyes widened and he opened his mouth to reply. Before he could, I kissed him.

He walks up to me, the girl standing behind him. "Hello Jordan," Gillespie says. He points to the girl. "This little lady here is a new student. I'm gonna have her work with you today, show her the ropes. Behave yourselves." Before I get a chance to protest, Gillespie walks off to check on other people's progress. The girl just stands there, looking at me quizzically. "Um," I say. "Do you have a name?" "Yes," she says, and I'm struck by her accent. I think it's French. "My name is Nicole, Nicole Lavoie." "Interesting. Say, is that a French accent I hear? Are you from Quebec or something?" "Yes, I am, she says. "Montreal, to be exact." "Really? I've always wanted to go there!" "That's awesome. Uh, your name is Jordan, right?" "Yes, yes it is." *** Jordan Devlin is a hockey player, and a good one at that. Although hockey has always been his passion, there is one thing that he hasn't been able to figure out: love. When he suddenly meets a girl he finds incredibly attractive, he is unsure of what to do. What will Jordan do about this girl, now that he finds his life turned upside down? *** "Tell me a bit about yourself. You're the first person here that I've talked to since coming here." "Alright," I say, unsure of what to say next. "I spend a lot of my time playing hockey. That's where I strive to be professionally." "You're a hockey player, huh? Nicole asks excitedly. "What position?" "Centre." "Cool. You do much of anything else?" I shrug. "No. Just a hockey player." "Are you any good?" "How does fifty goals in twenty games sound to you?" Her eyes widen. "That's near impossible, isn't it?" "Apparently not." "That's impressive. Now, let's get to work. The teacher is staring at us." I nod, and we get to work. The whole time, I cannot help but smile stupidly, because Nicole took such an interest in me, and who I am. She seems so full of life, and not one to let it bring her down. I'm beginning to like her already.

His rough hands pushed me firmly against the wall. He placed his hands on either sides of my head, I was cornered with nowhere to go. He pressed his big muscular body up against my tiny one. His hot minty breath fanned my face and my breath hitched. He leaned forward but stopped when our lips brushed. The urge to kiss him was too big but I have to constrain myself. He is a teacher for crying out loud. "You didn't do your homework," he sarcastically whispered against my lips. "I..I well." I stuttered not being able to make full sentences. "Do I make you nervous?" Mr. Matthews asked whilst pushing his body even closer to mine, which I didn't think was possible but apparently it was. I was now squeezed in between the wall and him. I gulped. "no, I just forgot. Besides I'm not the only one" I stated matter-of-factly. He grinned "I know, but I wanted to keep you behind. Want to know why?" he asked. I slowly nodded my head in a 'yes'. I felt him smirk against my lips. He pulled away slightly making my lips itch to touch his again. "Because you drive me crazy, I can't stop thinking about you" he murmured whilst placing tiny pecks from my cheek to my jawline. Each kiss leaving a tingly and hot sensation behind... Caleb Jacobson has spent years building walls to protect himself-from heartbreak, from abandonment, from the girl who walked away without looking back. When Lily Summers returns senior year, all laughter and light, she brings every buried feeling crashing back to the surface. She says she wants to make things right. Caleb can't decide if he wants to let her try. What follows is a slow unraveling-of anger, of longing, of years of unspoken words-as the two navigate friendship, forgiveness, and the impossible pull between them. But healing isn't easy, and love isn't simple-not when trust is fragile, and the past refuses to stay buried. Some stories don't get second chances. But some hearts never stop hoping.
